The building is set in small but well kept gardens which are lined with interesting pictures depicting Saigon 'then' and 'now'.
The building itself is old French-Colonial.
The view from the balcony takes in the gardens below, the tunnel project and the river running along the edge of District 1.
On the other side of the river, you can clearly see the tunnel prep in D2.
Further up the river is the port.
Finally, looking back over the tunnel construction to the Vietcombank.
Inside the museum itself, you'll find all kinds of artifacts relating to Uncle Ho's life, and the third floor houses a huge collection of HCM portraits.

You have convinced me to finally go and take a look at this museum. It must be a bit difficult to get to with all of the changing roadwork barricades in that neighborhood. Looking at your picture of the museum building, I was having trouble identifying it as old (maybe it has had a bad modernization), but the Lonely Planet Guide verifies it was built in 1863. I will reserve judgement on it until I see it in person.

Access from Nguyen Tat Thanh is not too bad actually! Just cross into D4 (use NKKN) and then turn left and left again onto NTT.Stick to the right and you'll see the short road leading to the museum.
what tunnel are they building in Sai Gon? O i miss viet nam so much! I left just one month prior. How long have u been there?
Hạc.
I've been here two years and one month. The tunnel is going under the river at the points you see in the pictures - from D1 to D2...
Definitely one of the places I want to visit when I go to Saigon. Only 8 more weeks... Can't wait!
